A new storm to form in East Sea
A tropical depression in north-eastern part of the East Sea is likely to strengthen into a storm in coming hours, according to the National Hydro-Metrological Forecasting Centre.

At 13.00pm on July 10, the depression was positioned at 19.1 degrees north latitude and 119.94 degrees east longitude, with winds gusting at up to 20kmph near its centre.

In the next 24 hours, the depression is forecast to move west and northwest at a speed of 20kmph and cause strong winds and rough seas in the north-eastern part of the East Sea.

Due to the depression,  monsoon winds will strengthen in the south-western region and the central highland and southern regions are warned of torrential rains, flash floods and landsides.
