AO victims receive Tet gifts
The Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange (VAVA) said its central, provincial and municipal associations have presented Tet gifts to Agent Orange (AO) victims.

The VAVA spent VND200 million on gifts for the victims.

Municipal and provincial VAVA representatives and the communities have displayed the spirit of mutual affection in helping AO victims on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.

The VAVA’s chapter in southern Dong Nai province presented 1,200 gifts worth VND350,000 each to the AO victims’ families. The Bien Hoa sugar factory handed over VND297million to 191 AO-affected families in the districts of Nhon Trach, Trang Bom and Vinh Cuu.

In Bac Giang province, the victims also received VND500 million worth of presents. The secretary of the provincial Party Committee and chairman of the People’s Committee directly handed over the gifts to people in several districts. 10 AO-affected families were given new houses, costing VND50 million each.

Other provincial associations also called for help from organizations and individuals to present 100 gifts or build houses for AO victims.
