Asian countries to standardise vehicle certification
The 14th Conference of the Japan Automobile standards Internationalization Center (JASIC) was held in Hanoi on November 25 with many Asian governments and manufacturers taking part.

The conference, which was organised by the Vietnam Register, discussed measures to establish vehicle certification systems in each country, and harmonise vehicle regulations amongst countries to mutually recognise vehicle types under the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) regulations annexed to the 1958 Agreement.

It is necessary to have mutually recognisable vehicle certification systems amongst Asian countries to reach the target set out in the 13 previous conferences as soon as possible.
