Deputy Director of the provincial Museum Le Ba Hanh said on January 8 that the ancient coffin, which is 1.2m wide and 2.6m long, was found along with three ceramic vases and three small ceramic cups, in Cam Huy commune’s Dong Cat village.
The vases and the cups date back to the 15th-16th century, Mr Hanh said, citing initial archeological reports.
According to the deputy director, the coffin was found by the locals while they were doing irrigation works in the field.
