Brazilians triumph at BTV Cup 2009
Brazilian Duque de Caxias won the Binh Duong Television international football tournament (BTV Cup) after beating Vietnam’s Dong Tam Long An 2-1 in the final at Go Dau Stadium on November 29.
Leandro Cruz de Oliveira and Givaldo de Jesus scored for the Brazilian team, while Charles Obi pulled back a goal for Long An.

After six minutes into the game, Leandro latched onto his teammate’s cross with a low shot past Long An’s goalkeeper Filip Madzovski.

The V-League side was faced with a disadvantage in the second half as Vuong Quoc Huan was sent off for a second yellow card and Caxias swiftly settled the match with a second goal.

Leandro’s cross found Gevaldo de Jesus in the penalty area and he wasted no time to send the ball past goalie Filip with a far upright shot.

Six minutes before the final whistle, Long An’s ObSi hammed the ball into the back of the net, but it was all over for the Vietnamese team.

The Brazilian team, who debuted at the annual tournament, received US$20,000 in cash prize.

In the all-Vietnamese third-place, Cement Hai Phong beat hosts Binh Duong 3-1 to get US$5,000.
