Building strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan
Vietnam and Japan need to renew regional and global perspectives and get rid of the Western model, said Professor Momoki Shiro from the Osaka National University of Japan.

While delivering his speech at a presentation held in Hanoi on Dec. 2 by the Vietnam Institute for Social Sciences, Professor Momoki Shiro talked about necessary measures to build a strategic partnership and increase mutual understanding between Vietnam and Japan, based on the viewpoint of Japanese historian.

He also mentioned issues relating to social sciences and humanity of both countries. He said that Vietnam and Japan should change the mechanism for educational research, with Asia taking centre stage.

In addition, to have a comprehensive understanding of the two countries, it is essential to understand the East Asia region, he added.
