Coconut Festival attracts visitors
Over the past four days, the Coconut Festival in the Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre has attracted thousands of visitors each day.

The festival honours individuals and organisations who have made significant contributions to the development of the coconut industry. It attracted 134 businesses in 300 stalls showcasing their products made from coconut as well as techniques for coconut breeding, harvesting and processing.

Tran Duy Phuong, an organising board member, said that the festival aims to promote coconut brand names, introduce coconut products, accelerate coconut exports and preserve Ben Tre’s coconut sources.

During the seven-day festival, there were seminars on value of coconut trees and other cultural activities, such as coconut cuisine contests.
