Contracts of US$114 million inked at border trade fair
Enterprises from China and Vietnam signed business contracts worth up to US$114 million at the 9th International Trade and Tourism Fair in the northern province of Lao Cai that ended on November 7.

The economic value of contracts signed at this year’s event is 24 percent higher than that of the trade fair held in 2007.

The Deputy Director of the provincial Lao Cai Industry and Trade Department, Vu Xuan Hong, said authorities from Lao Cai and Yunnan provinces agreed in this year’s fair to continue implementing the cooperation projects signed earlier.

Businesses from both countries displayed their products and services at 650 booths at the fair, attracting 10,000 visitors over one week.

An investment promotion conference was held in the fair with the participation of 100 enterprises from both countries.
