Course teaches vocational trainers of int’l standards
A pilot course to train teachers in automobile repair at international standards has been launched in the Mechanical College of the northern province of Vinh Phuc.

During the two-month course, which is co-organised by the Vietnam General Department for Vocational Training (GDVT), the International Labour Organisation and the European Union, 30 learners will be provided with knowledge on advanced teaching methods.

All lecturers and curricula for the course are provided by the United Kingdom’s Council for Professions.

After the course, the learners will receive the UK’s second-degree teaching certificates which are recognised by over 100 countries worldwide.

The graduates will pass on their learnt skills to teaching other teachers at vocational training establishments.

According to the Vice Head of the GDVT, Cao Van Sam, the pilot course is part of a project to reform vocational training by 2020 which is designed by the Ministry of Labour, Invalid and Social Affairs to the aim of raising vocational training schools to regional and international standards.
