Cruise ship carrying 79 passengers in collision at sea
The cruise liner Greenlines suddenly collided with a mooring buoy during its voyage from Vung Tau to Ho Chi Minh City, on April 8. The incident left the ship with a huge gash in the buoy but all 79 passengers were evacuated safely.

The ship, owned by the Dong Song Xanh Joint Stock Company and commanded by Captain Nguyen Dinh Duc was carrying 79 passengers, including a number of foreign tourists and 5 crew.

As soon as they were informed of the accident, Ho Chi Minh City’s Waterway Police and rescue workers were alerted in case fire would break out.

The relevant agencies are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
