DPRK President calls again for denuclearization of Korean Peninsula
The President of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Kim Jong Il, has reiterated the country's wish for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

He said during a meeting with Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee that the sincerity of parties in resuming the six-party talks is very important.

Wang delivered a letter from Chinese President Hu Jintao to Kim before having a frank talk with the DPRK leader.

Meanwhile, a UN special envoy is scheduled to arrive in DPRK on February 9. This will be the first visit by a UN official to the country since Ban Ki-moon became the organisation’s General Secretary.
