DPRK holds parliamentary elections
People in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) cast their ballots in parliamentary elections on March 8.

All polling stations opened their doors to voters at 09.00 (local time) and closed at 18.00 the same day. The result will be announced the following day.

Analysts are following the result of the poll with keen interest as it will identify who will succeed leader Kim Jong-il.

Earlier, sources said that Kim Jong-il had selected his 26-year-old son Kim Jong-un to replace him.
