Dak Nong urged to develop forest-based economy
The Central Highland province of Dak Nong should pay attention to planning economic zones in agriculture, forestry and industry as well as attaching special importance to developing the forest-based economy.
Truong Tan Sang, Politburo member and Standing Member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, made the statement while working with provincial leaders in Gia Nghia town on October 25.

Dak Nong should give priority to investing in traffic roads, irrigation works, schools and safe water systems as well as developing Gia Nghia town into an ecological urban area imbued with the Central Highland identities, he said.

In addition, the province should take measures to effectively and economically use its mineral resources and implement policies to attract investors, he added.

Sang also praised efforts made by the local authorities and people in overcoming difficulties and attaining socio-economic achievements.

On October 24, he took a fact-finding tour of a bauxite production and processing project at the Nhan Co Alumina Industrial Zone in DakR’Lap district.

He asked the project owner - the Nhan Co Alumina Joint Stock Company to pay attention to environmental protection and well perform resettlement work while carrying out the project.
