While meeting with Ho Chi Minh Municipal People’s Committee Chairman Le Hoang Quan on November 6, Queen Margrethe II added that many Danish entrepreneurs who are accompanying her are satisfied with their meetings with Vietnamese partners.
She thanked local authorities for make it easier for Danish businesses to make investment in the locality, saying the city will always be a driving force for Vietnam’s comprehensive development as well as contribute actively to the relations between Vietnam and Danmark. She expressed her belief in bilateral cooperation potentials, not only in trading but also in culture and society.
Speaking at a press conference on the same day in Ho Chi Minh City, the Queen called her visit to Viet Nam an amazing experience for new and practical share on mutual interests between the two sides and for witnessing a strongly growing Vietnam.
She revealed that the her meetings with Vietnamese leaders help the two sides find out new cooperation areas, thus bilateral ties are expected to tighten further.
Queen Margrethe also said that Vietnam’s culture and it people left deep impressions to other Royal members.
In an interview with Danish media, Crown Prince Frederik said that he hopes that the up-coming establishment of direct flights from Denmark to Vietnam will give impetus to boosting bilateral relations.
Also on November 6, the Queen attended a ceremony to hand over 500 helmets to primary pupils as part of the project to give over 400,000 helmets for children, deployed by the Asia Injury Prevention Foundation and the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group in Vietnam and Southeast Asian region over the past 10 years.
A Vietnam-Denmark business forum was held in HCM City on the same day in the presence of Prince Consort Henrik and Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Hua Ngoc Thuan.
The forum drew more than 600 representatives from Vietnamese and Danish government agencies, private organisations, and business associations to discuss and set up new links and specific cooperation projects between the two sides.
Addressing the forum, Prince Henrik stressed Vietnam’s progress in economy means that the country’s domestic market is more attractive for Danish exporters.
He said he believed that Danish technology and equipment suppliers would meet Vietnam’s increasing demands in the country’s economic development process.
The Prince said he hoped the forum would contribute to developing enterprise relations and new business cooperation programmes between the two countries.
The forum included workshops on clean technology, aviation and maritime equipment, meat, food and beverage production and process, and know-how on Danish technologies in the fields, architecture and urban planning, industrial art and trade-name development.
While in Ho Chi Minh City, Queen Margrethe II, Prince Henrik and royal members met with the Danish business community and visited several Danish companies, the municipal History Museum and interesting places.
