Domestic gold prices rise on global surge
The price of gold bars from different companies all increased by nearly VND300,000 per tael on November 19.

SJC gold bars from the Saigon Jewelry Holding Company were bought at VND27.10 million per tael and sold for VND27.3 million per tael on the Hanoi market. The corresponding figure for Sacombank were VND26.8 million and VND27.3 million respectively.

Some businesses that have been permitted to import gold say that imported gold is being turned into gold bars for sale.

Many businesses are saying that domestic gold prices will soon be on a par with world prices. For the past several days, domestic gold prices have stabilized at around VND27 million per tael as gold transaction have slowed down.
