The project, entitled “Innovation and Trademark: A Tool to Successfully Compete in the Global Market”, is set for 12 months in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with a budget of nearly EUR250,000, of which EUR225,000 is funded by the European Commission (EC).
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the project is very important for the Vietnamese footwear industry, especially when it is facing a lot of challenges, including a lack of locally-made materials, poor infrastructure and services and low labour standards.
Through the project, footwear businesses’ staff will be trained and provided with knowledge of trade policies as well as ways to approach the market.
The project will also help local businesses build the trademark for the Vietnamese export leather and footwear to raise the competitiveness of their products in the international market.
