Five Philippine fishermen rescued at sea
Vietnamese fishermen have rescued five Philippine citizens from a sinking boat off the coast of Binh Dinh province, according to the provincial border guard force.

On February 7, fishermen aboard a boat owned by Pham De – a Binh Dinh fisherman – rescued the Philippine citizens when their fishing boat was sinking at sea, about 60 nautical miles from Song Tu Dong Island and 300 miles from the Binh Dinh coast.

The border guard force said Mr De’s boat was on its way back to port, carrying the rescuees who are in good health.

Provincial authorities are working with the two countries’ diplomatic agencies to repatriate the rescuees to their families.
