HCM City’s CPI in November increases by 0.55 pct
Ho Chi Minh City’s consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.55 percent in November against last month, according to the municipal statistics office.

Food and goods services showed a relatively high rise of 1.02 percent and 1.11 percent, respectively.

In the food group, there were augmentations in prices: fresh meat (up 0.51 percent), processed meat (up 0.14 percent), egg (up 1.28 percent), cooking oil (up 0.47 percent), fresh seafood (up 0.24 percent), processed seafood (up 0.73 percent), vegetables (up 6.24 percent), fruit (up 1.18 percent) and sugar (up 4.12 percent).    

Water and electricity, fuel and construction materials also increased by 0.88 percent on average.

Meanwhile, the prices of drinks and cigarettes, and post and telecommunications costs fell slightly by 0.05-0.07 percent.

Economic experts forecast that food prices would continue to go up from now until the Lunar New Year Festival due to the impact of floods, complicated development of diseases and a shortfall in food supply.
