Ha Long Bay enters second round of voting for New7Wonders
The organising board of the campaign to vote for new seven world wonders (New7Wonders) on January 7 announced a list of 261 candidates entering the second round of voting, including Ha Long Bay and the Mekong River.

Two other Vietnamese candidates: Fansipan and Phong Nha-Ke Bang did not make the list.

N7W will receive votes from people all over the world for the candidates in the second round until July 7 to choose 77 places for the next round. The board will announce a list of 21 candidates in the third round on July 21. The last round will take place from July 21, 2009 to 2011.

261 places from 222 countries in the second round include many world famous sites such as the Grand Canyon, Loch Ness, Mount Fuji, the Amazon River, the Danube River, the Kalahari Desert and Niagara Falls.
