Hanoi starts young volunteer campaign for summer
(Photo: Nong Duc Viet)
The Hanoi Chapter of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has kicked off a youth programme across the capital city from April this year to coincide with major celebrations such as the 55th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory, Hanoi’s liberation and the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.

The campaign will reach its peak between May and August, attracting a wide range of union members, young people, students and local people.

This time, the campaign will highlight effectiveness, professionalism and safety during its activities.

The chapter will also focus on on-site activities, including cleaning rivers, lakes, and drainage systems.

It will select 1000 volunteers for the Asian Indoor Games and the grand ceremony to celebrate 1000 years of Thang Long-Hanoi.

Other major events will include assistance for college-entrance exam takers, building charity houses in the northwestern province of Dien Bien and some volunteer activities in Laos.
