Hanoi to host int’l fashion fair
Nearly 100 domestic and foreign businesses will showcase their products at the Vietnam International Fashion Fair 2009 (Viff 2009) to be held in Hanoi from November 18-24.

On display are garments and textiles, footwear, bags, garment and footwear accessories and cosmetics.

The fair will include a ceremony to admit Vietnam to the Asian Fashion Federation, evening fashion shows and a fashion design contest for students from northern universities and colleges.

Vu Duc Giang, general director of the Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (VINATEX), says in the face of the global economic recession, the garment sector has taken great pains to seek new niche markets with a focus on the domestic market. It is expected to achieve a growth rate of between 1-3 percent this year to earn more than US$9 billion.
