Host Hanoi announces 12 events for regional junior Games
The capital city of Hanoi will host 11 out of the 12 events at the 13th Southeast Asian Students Games scheduled for late December, according to the Sports and Games Committee (SGC).

Head of the SGC Technical Sub-Committee Nguyen Hong Minh on May 9 released a 12-event list of football, volleyball, table-tennis, basketball, swimming, track-and-field, chess, badminton, tennis, taekwondo, karate and pencak silat. Pencak silat will be the only event to take place in Hanoi's neighbouring province of Bac Ninh.

Mr Minh said all 11 regional countries have registered to participate in the Games, for which preparations are virtually completed.

The SGC pledged to hold a huge Games to make it an event of solidarity among young Southeast Asian generations and to increase Vietnam's regional prestige.
