Khanh Hoa to host int'l boat race
The World Match Racing Tour (WMRT) on February 6 granted the Rainbow International Company Limited the authority to host the VietnamMatch Cup, an international sailing race.

The sailing championship was first held in the US in 2000 and the ninth annual race will be held at Nha Trang beach in the south central province of Khanh Hoa.

This year’s competition, the first to be held in Vietnam, will begin in France in April and competitors are scheduled to arrive in Nha Trang in September.

The championship involves 12 teams and each 10 to 12-metre-long sailboat will include a crew of four to six racers.

The Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee Vice Chairman, Le Xuan Than, says Khanh Hoa will make all efforts to ensure the success of the competition.

This is an excellent opportunity for Vietnam to promote a positive image to the world, he added.
