Lao PM calls for tightening ties with Vietnam
The Lao Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh has called on the Vietnamese and Lao people to preserve the special relationship between the two countries from generation to generation.

He made the request while receiving Vietnamese Ambassador Ta Minh Chau, who paid him a courtesy visit before starting his new term of office in Vientiane on May 13.

The Lao PM said that the development of the special relationship between the two neighbouring countries is in the interests of peace, independence and prosperity.

“The central Government, the business community and local administrations should take initiatives to boost bilateral relations to best advantage, emphasised the Prime Minister.

He expressed hope that the Vietnamese ambassador would actively contribute to developing comprehensive ties between the two countries, the Lao Prime Minister pledged full cooperation and the best conditions for Chau as well as other Vietnamese officials working in Laos to help them discharge their duties.

In return, the Vietnamese diplomat vowed that he would do his best to contribute to promoting the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Laos.
