Man-U, Liverpool stars play in Vietnam friendly
Former Vietnamese footballers will play friendly matches against former Manchester United and Liverpool stars in a two-day competition in Hanoi on November 19 and 20.

The games or the Masters Vietnam, organised by the Vietnam Football Federation and the DC media company, will take place at My Dinh National Stadium.

Former Army striker, Nguyen Cao Cuong, who was voted the best Vietnamese player for 20 years, will captain the team and play with three-time Golden Ball winner, Le Huynh Duc and former Southeast Asian best player, Nguyen Hong Son.

On November 18, former Liverpool and England midfielder, Steve McManaman and former Man Utd striker Andy Cole will hold a press conference at the Vietnam History Museum.

Veterans Jason McAteer, John Barnes and Don Hutchison of Liverpool and former Man Utd players Andrei Kanchelskis, Clayton Blackmore, Vivian Anderson, David May and Jesper Blomqvist are also expected to take part in the competition.

At a press conference in Hanoi last month, Man Utd’s Vivian Anderson and David May said that they hope other former Premier League stars will also play in Vietnam.

Man Utd will take on Vietnam on November 19 and Liverpool’s veterans will then play against the host team the following day.

The Masters football tour has drawn many former players from famous clubs in the English Premiership to compete in a series of friendlies.
