Ninh Binh attracts 2 million visitors in eleven months
Ninh Binh attracted over 2 million visitors, 27,000 from overseas, in the first 11 months of 2009, according to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

With an increase of 27 percent in visitors to the province over the same period last year, Ninh Binh’s tourism sector earned VND220 billion, up by 50 percent.

In November alone, Ninh Binh welcomed 190,000 visitors, up by 10 percent compared to October.

The places that attracted the largest number of foreign tourists were the Tam Coc – Bich Dong tourist site, Van Long Eco-Tourism Complex, Cuc Phuong National Park and Bai Dinh religious tourist centre.

The department has organised many courses to train tourist guides in foreign languages, behaviour and communications skills by the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector.

It has also monitored crime levels and has enforced public security and law and order at public places.

In November, the province spent over VND100 billion to build the Trang An Tourism Centre, VND50 billion to upgrade the right Hoang Long dyke system, a highway from Bai Dinh to Kim Son, and VND20 billion to build a 54-hole Golf course, in order to help Ninh Binh’s Tourism sector develop.
