Overseas Vietnamese in Japan wish to contribute to homeland
Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Thanh Son met with representatives of the overseas Vietnamese community at the Vietnamese Embassy headquarters in Tokyo on June 13 to identify their needs and wishes.

Mr Son, who is also chairman of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (COVA), briefed them on Vietnam’s recent socio-economic development as well as the country’s position in the region and the world. .

He also informed them about specific policies and plans the Party and State have introduced to support Vietnamese nationals residing abroad.

The Party and State consider overseas Vietnamese as an indispensable part of the nation and create the best possible conditions for them to contribute to the father land, said Mr Son.

He highlighted the great potential that overseas Vietnamese in Japan and around the world hold, and called on them to unite, provide mutual assistance in difficult times and turn their hearts to the homeland.

He frankly answered queries relating to Vietnam’s incentive policies for those wishing to work and invest in the country, and policies to purchase houses in the country and protect Vietnamese citizens abroad.

The representatives of overseas Vietnamese in Japan said they always encourage their peers to invest in Vietnam and carry out practical activities to contribute to the homeland.

Later, the Vietnamese Embassy launched a campaign to vote for Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh province as a new Natural World Wonder.
