A Vietnamese Government delegation led by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will attend the 14th ASEAN Summit in Thailand from February 28 to March 1.
At a regular press briefing in Hanoi on February 19, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Dung said that regional leaders will discuss measures to implement the ASEAN Charter and strengthen the degree of intra-ASEAN alliance, as well as cooperation between the bloc and its outside partners.
They will also touch upon measures to cope with emerging challenges to the region, particularly the global financial crisis, food and energy security and natural disaster response, as well as exchanging ideas on regional and international issues of common interest.
They are expected to sign and adopt a number of important statements, agreements and reports.
