Party leader pushes for completing Vietnam-Laos history book
The history book of Vietnam-Laos special relationship should be completed with the best quality to meet the aspiration of their people, contributing to the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, said Party leader Nong Duc Manh.

Mr Manh made the statement while receiving Samane Viyakhet, Politburo member of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee and head of the Steering Board for compiling the history book of Laos-Vietnam special relationship, in Hanoi on March 30.

“The Party, State and people of Vietnam will do their utmost to bring the Vietnam-Laos special relationship to new heights,” said Mr Manh.

He spoke highly of the Lao people’s significant achievements during the renewal process and expressed his belief that they will make greater achievements in implementing the 8th Lao Party Congress’ resolution to build a country of peace, independence, democracy, unity and prosperity.

He conveyed his best regards to Party General Secretary and President Choummaly Sayasone and other leaders of Laos.

Mr Viyakhet briefed his host on the outcome of a meeting between the two steering boards for compiling the history book and said that Laos will work closely with Vietnam to complete the project on schedule.

The Party, State and people of Laos want to strengthen the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam, said Mr Viyakhet.
