Southern Agricultural – Rural Trade Promotion Fair 2009 opens
The Agriculture and Rural Trade Promotion Fair 2009 for Vietnam’s Southern provinces entitled “Agriculture – Farmer – Rural areas” opened at Go Dau stadium in Binh Duong province on November 13.  

The annual event, sponsored by Binh Dien Fertilizer Company, honours achievements in agriculture and rural economic development.

It is also a chance for Farmers’ Associations, businesses and individual farmers to exchange experiences and knowledge in producing and marketing local products.

This year’s fair has 250 stalls put up by 160 domestic and international businesses and associations. Of the total, 130 belong to 25 provincial, municipal and district farmers’ssociations from the Southern region, including 60 for commercial products and 80 for agricultural products.

During the fair, there will be 4 seminars on agriculture and cultural and sporting events conducted by provincial farmer associations.

Also at the fair, organisers will present two houses of affection worth VND30 million donated by Duc Huy company to two poor farmers from Binh Duong and Vinh Long.

The fair will run until November 18.
