Sudanese minister visits Vietnam

Award Ahmed Eljjaz, Minister of Finance and Economy and Special Envoy of the President of Sudan, visited Vietnam from March 29-31.

The Sudanese minister met with State Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan and worked with Deputy Foreign Minister Doan Xuan Hung.

In their meetings, the two sides discussed measures to increase multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Sudan, particularly in agriculture and the oil and gas industry. They also exchanged views on international issues of common concern.

The Sudanese minister expressed his admiration for the Vietnamese people’s past struggle for national independence, and spoke highly of the country’s socio-economic achievements during the Doi Moi (Renewal) process, as well as its emerging role in the international arena.

The Vietnamese officials affirmed that Vietnam wants to expand traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Sudan.
