Top legislative bodies of Vietnam and Laos strengthen ties
The People’s Supreme Procuracy of Vietnam and Laos has held a meeting for people’s procuracies of provinces along the two countries’ common border line.

The meeting took place in Cua Lo town in the central province of Nghe An from June 6-8, with the aim of seeking measures to boost bilateral cooperation and solidarity.

Both sides have assisted each other in various fields through staff training and by providing documents and equipment. They have also cooperated in combating drug-related crime and human trafficking across the border.

Since 2002, the people’s procuracies of 10 provinces sharing the Vietnam-Lao border line have detected and investigated 14,704 criminal cases, 19,260 of which were drug-related ones.
