Apart from Hanoi and HCM City, the US investors focused their ventures on other localities with potential economic development like the southern provinces of Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau.
During a visit to Vietnam in early December 2009, the ex-President of the US Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) and President of the US Amway Group, Steve Van Andel said the increased US investment in the country showed the keen interest of US businesses and entrepreneurs in Vietnam.
In 2008, US investment capital only totalled more than US$1.5 billion.
