US provides humanitarian assistance to Quang Tri
The United States has carried out a humanitarian assistance programme in the central province of Quang Tri.
In cooperation with local authorities, the programme, part of Operation Pacific Angel 2009, provided general medical care to over 4,500 residents of Cam Lo district from September 15-22.

More than 60 members of the US Air Force serving in the US Pacific Command also joined in engineering efforts, including plumbing, electrical and structural work, at the Cam Thuy Medical Centre, according to a press release from the US Embassy in Vietnam.

The Deputy Chairman of the Quang Tri provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chinh praised the humanitarian programme.

US Ambassador to Vietnam Michael Michalak and Colonel Patrick Reardon, Military Attaché to the US Embassy in Hanoi, thanked the province’s authorities and those who helped conduct the programme.
