Vietnam attends 18th Congress of Spanish Communist Party
A delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) attended the 18th Congress of the Spanish Communist Party (PCE), which took place in Madrid from November 6-8.
The Vietnamese delegation, led by Pham Thi Hai Chuyen, a member of the CPV Central Committee (CPVCC) and Vice Chair of the CPVCC Commission for Inspection, conveyed greetings from the CPVCC to the congress, and met with the PCE’s Commission for External Relations. 

At a reception for the delegation, the PCE General Secretary, Jose Luis Centella, spoke highly of the CPV’s prestige and experience as well as Vietnam’s achievements during its renewal process as an inspiration for other nations in their struggles for a happy and prosperous society. 

He expressed hopes to strengthen the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two Parties and two nations. 

During their stay in Spain, the CPV delegation also held meetings with several other overseas delegations taking part in the congress.

The 18th PCE Congress drew the participation of 550 delegates representing nearly 40,000 party members in the country, and 45 international delegations from 33 countries.
