Vietnam attends Bangladeshi Workers’ Party Congress
A Vietnamese Party delegation led by Le Hong Liem, deputy head of the Party’s Inspection Commission attended the 8th congress of the Workers’ Party of Bangladesh in Dacca from November 14-18.

The congress adopted its political reports and elected a Party Central Committee for the new tenure. Rashid Khan Meno was re-elected President, and Anisur Rahman Mallick was elected General Secretary of the Party.

At a reception for the Vietnamese delegation, President Meno praised the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) for its leading role and experiences in leadership, saying the Renewal achievements under the leadership of the CPV serve as a source of encouragement to the people’s global struggle for peace, national independence, democracy and social progress.

He expressed his desire to promote solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the two parties and the two nations.

While staying in Dacca, Mr Liem attended a seminar hosted by the Workers’ Party of Bangladesh and presented a report on “The global economic recession and the working class.” He also met with leaders of several other international delegations attending the congress.
