Vietnam attends Sri Lanka Freedom Party Congress
A delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by Nguyen Minh Quang, a Central Committee member, attended the 19th Congress of the Freedom Party of Sri Lanka in Colombo recently.

The congress passed resolutions on politics, economy, national solidarity and the foreign policies of the Freedom Party of Sri Lanka.

It affirmed the historical significance of the fight against terrorism and economic achievements under the circumstances of civil war and the global economic crisis.

The congress called on people from all walks of life and religions to consolidate to develop the country.
The Vietnamese delegation was received by Mahinda Rajapakse, State and Party President, who described the delegation’s presence at the Congress as a symbol of their country’s support for the Freedom Party of Sri Lanka’s national construction and development.

Nguyen Minh Quang expressed his wish that multifaceted cooperation between the two countries would be promoted through the relationship between the two parties.
