Vietnam self-sufficient in measles vaccine
Vietnam has sufficient measles vaccine in stock to serve its own expanded immunisation programme.

Deputy Health Minister Cao Minh Quang delivered the news to a meeting of the Coordinating Committee in Hanoi on November 13, for a project titled “Improving Vietnam’s measles vaccine producing capacity”.

The Centre for Research and Production of Vaccines and Biological Products (POLYVAC) can now produce measles vaccine, thanks to the project.

Following this success, POLYVAC is embarking on researching and then producing Rubella vaccine for the nation.

It also plans to produce combined vaccines, like measles-rubella and mumps-measles-rubella vaccines and study the production of vaccines for the A/H5N1 and A/H1N1 flus.
