Vietnam to host 2nd Asia-Europe Film Festival
The Vietnam Cinematography Department, under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has liaised with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to organise the 2nd Asia-Europe Festival on May 15-22 in Hanoi.

The event is part of activities to prepare for the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) to take place in Hanoi from May 25-26.

The festival is expected to attract 16 films from 15 countries, including Thailand, Japan, Cambodia, Poland, Finland, Spain, Romania, Germany, Argentina, Belgium, Latvia, Hungary, France, Sweden and Vietnam.

The festival’s opening ceremony will be held at the National Cinema Centre in Hanoi, featuring the film Đừng Đốt (Don’t Burn) about the life of a doctor-revolutionary martyr Dang Thuy Tram, directed by Dang Nhat Minh.

Free tickets are available at the Press and Information Department, under the Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnam Cinematography Department, under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and various embassies.
