Vietnamese businesses in UK hold third congress
The Vietnamese business community in the UK (VBUK) gathered for its third congress in London on November 1.

In his speech, the Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK, Tran Quang Hoan praised the VBUK’s positive development over the past year while confirming that the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK is willing to help the VBUK to promote exchanges between the UK and domestic businesses.

Mr Hoan also highlighted the Vietnamese Government’s open-door policies towards overseas Vietnamese and called on Vietnamese residents’ organisations in the UK to enhance their investments in the home country and make a greater contribution to national development.

On the occasion, the VBUK’s Standing Committee gave a brief on financial reports and the operational results of projects underway in Vietnam and mapped out development plans for next year.

The congress elected some new members to the VBUK’s Standing Committee to promote its activities and fulfill all the targets set by the association for 2010.
