White whale beached on northern coast
A big white whale was found dead on the beach of Bach Long Vi island district in the northern port city of Hai Phong.

Found on the morning of April 6, the whale, measuring 10m long, is estimated to weigh 9-10 tonnes.

Local fishermen said this was the biggest ever sea creature beached on the island.

The whale was buried the same day according to traditional customs.
